With respect to all activities related to the proper construction of wells, it is recommended that you consult a licensed well contractor. Regulation 903 under the Ontario Water Resources Act prescribes the minimum construction requirements for the water well industry in Ontario and outlines the roles and responsibilities required of licensed well contractors and well technicians including private well owners in supporting the regulation. Wells must be properly installed and maintained to ensure a continuous, safe supply of water. When a well is to be built, an examination of all available water well and hydrogeological records is necessary to determine the most suitable groundwater source.
